Judith C. Hickman
June 16, 1946 - July 20, 2022
Judith C. “Judy” Hickman, 76, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on July 20, 2022.
Judy graduated from Kennett Consolidated School and received an Associate’s Degree from Delaware Technical Community College. She was employed by the law firm Nitsche and Fredricks, LLC and was formerly the Program Coordinator at the Light up the Queen Foundation. She was a resident of Wilmington for over 50 years and worked as a volunteer for the City of Wilmington for 30 years for many arts and music festivals throughout the city. She loved the theater and was a talented and highly respected seamstress and costume coordinator for many Wilmington area theaters.
She is survived by her former husband and friend, William “Bill” Hickman; son, Wesley J. (Amy) Hickman; grandson, James Hickman; brother, Kenneth Creeden; sister, Frances “Pat” (James) Moran; niece, Patricia, nephew, Kevin (Jamie) and great friend, Ann Carr. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Clara Creeden.
Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Saturday, August 6, 2022 from 1:30PM to 3 PM at Strano and Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Road in Newark, where a memorial service will be held at 3 PM. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Downtown Visions, PO Box 2000, Wilmington, DE 19899.
